Experience Summary

A strategist with significant global experience in both the corporate and civic sectors, Larry’s expertise includes corporate strategy, business planning, innovation, economic development, sustainability and resilience, urban planning and community planning.

He has worked extensively in Australia and the USA. His clients include IBM, Telstra, GM Holden Australia and GM Asia Pacific, Rhode Island Economic Policy Council, Stamford Urban Redevelopment Commission, Stamford Centre for Innovation, US National Science Foundation, CSIRO Australia and a variety of federal, state and local government agencies.

Larry specialises in dealing with complex problems and opportunities that arise from the impacts and interplay of major immediate and emergent conditions, such as; energy re-orientation, climate change, disruptive technologies and global economic volatility. His core belief is that these types of conditions should not be seen as a crisis, but as a challenge to generate previously unknown opportunity within complex change.

He has gained broad experience in designing, leading and facilitating strategic programs across both corporate and civic organisations in Australia and in the USA. This enables him to offer clients a unique combination of cross-sector, regional and global perspectives to support the development of robust strategy to meet the needs of medium to large organizations in today’s environment.

Larry has authored leading edge strategic and innovation frameworks that he applies and teaches in partnership with his clients through dealing with their priorities that focus on real-world projects.

He is principle author of the Resilient Futures Framework and is the Resilient Futures Global Practice Leader (www.resilientfutures.org).

Larry is a highly experienced public speaker and has lectured at several universities and business schools including The Mount Eliza Business School, Curtin University, Edith Cowan University and Rhode Island School of Design (RISD).
